For Elisa.

My final year as a college student I had the privilege

of taking an ESL English course taught by Elisa Storke.
She made a season in school where I felt beyond burnt out
and extremely anxious leaving my new baby more than enjoyable.

I would leave her class and think to myself..

she is the very teacher I hope to someday emulate in my own classroom.

Her students LOVED her- she reached her class in a way

that I have NEVER seen before. She is kind, engaging

and incredibly funny. Not to mention SO beautiful.
She announced her pregnancy halfway through our semester
and would ask me questions about having a new baby.
I adored my time spent in her classroom!

Around this past Thanksgiving I discovered she was battling stage 4 Melanoma.
My heart has felt so heavy as I thought about this young amazing woman, teacher,
wife, and new mother. Mother to a beautiful 7 month old baby boy.
I can't even begin to imagine. But she is a fighter.
And I am just one among so many who are believing and praying for her!

This morning the local paper shared her battle thus far.
We all have a chance to help through prayer,
local fundraisers and an online fundraising site.
