catch-up.

Summer has been good to us. I'm not ready to see it go. We've spent our summer getting our staycation on. Soaking up the simple and sweet. Lots of backyard lunches, beach days and swimming.

 

Declan has been quite the trooper...such a honey baby. Grey Grey is our entertainment. Best ever. Ohh that little thing. Never a dull moment when the Minky is present. He is still on the fence when it comes to Baby Declan (aka Bubba, Bubby or Bubs). Grey often greets us in the morning seeking his mama "shnuggles" while shouting, "No Bubba. Put him back in dat cwib!" But then he melts us when we least expect it... he gets eye level with Bubby and whispers to him about the world of fruit snacks and tractors and crawdads. And then I am convinced... these two are going to make it.

 

Jay and I have managed to squeeze in quite a few dates this summer. He is my favorite. When we are tired and in the midst of life he knows just when to take my hand and pull us through. Usually it involves pulling me to the nearest ice cream shop. In case you didn't know...it ain't always a picnic to be married to me. Thankfully I am married to a patient and loving man who never gives up on our little unit.

 

I've thought long and hard this summer about life and the direction of our family.  The postpartum world tends to leave me rather pensive. I've done some major prioritizing and reevaluating. The online realm has definitely been an area I have cutback on. My posts may continue to be a bit sporadic. The internet can be a great thing... but not when it creates a world of distraction and comparison. Ain't nobody got time for that.

 

 My hands are busy these days loving, building, and straight surviving at times. But my heart is full and very aware of this beautiful, sacred and often times messy journey that is ours.
