lessons from lovies.

These moments hit me hard...

Holding my Declan Baby in my arms as I quietly observe Jay and Greyson getting lost in their own sweet world of adventure. A world that belongs only to a daddy and his little boy. Finding this little Minky with marker all over his tummy... and watching his eyes light up as he lifts his shirt and proudly explains that he drew a fish... "fis mama!!!" Declan and the way he relaxes and melts into me the very second he is in my arms. Escapades with my boys that involve fresh air and dirt and rocks and splashing and strolling and love and laughter and kisses and ugga muggas.

I often need reminding that these are the things that my boys will remember and cherish...

They will not cherish the vehicles we drove or whether or not the laundry was always folded and put away. But they will hold dear the days that belonged to mud and sunshine, falling asleep on their mama after a long day of play and watching as their mommy and daddy celebrate life while holding hands through it all.

Often, the sweetest and most needed lessons come from my lovies.
