YOU: make my heart swell. My sweet boy who officially made me a mama. I can't believe you are almost four. You are happiest wearing camo, chewing a piece of bubblegum, and dinking around outdoors with your brother. Daddy calls you his dinker. It's our family term we use when we refer to you and all your Greyson shenanigans. Declan still calls you Ga-Ga. You two are quite the team. You have 2 imaginary friends (Huey and Quey) who often join you on your huntin' and hikin' trips, they occasionally eat dinner with us too.You make us laugh. The other day Miss Kristin asked you what you were slinging around in your camouflage sack. You responded with, "Eh, just some meat I got when I was out huntin' in dem mountains with Huey and Quey. I got some elk, deer, sheep, and mountain goat!" You challenge me to my very core and you are often the one teaching me. Last week, I was dealing with a bit of mom guilt and just feeling like I wasn't doing enough. In the midst of shuffling you boys out the door to the gym, you asked me if you could bring your Bible to "talk to dem kids about Jesus." My first thought was ehhh, they are going to think we are some kind of Bible pushing WEIRDOS. And then I had to stop and receive your rebuke (bad mama) as you made it clear to me that you were "bringin' dat Bible into da workout club." You marched right into the kid center and asked the adorable teacher to read it to you. She did. And when it was time to leave she was rocking the biggest smile and told me what a gem you are. You are brave. You've got heart kid. And it's moment like these that continue to remind me that we are going to be just fine. You are so loved, Greyson.
