I am on a mission to cultivate a heart of gratitude in myself and in my home. I am trying to be intentional in recognizing and thanking God daily for all that He has done.

So often I find myself focusing on what it seems that God is not doing rather than what He has done.

There is so much joyful thanking to be done. Even when the present appears dark and
hopeless. He is still worthy of praise, through it all. This is a truth that I discover over and over.

One of my favorite worship songs is 10,000 Reasons. It is a paraphrase of Psalm 103. As I walked with my family a few nights ago I was overwhelmed with all the many reasons I have to praise Jesus. Not just because of what He has done in our lives but because of who He is. As a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, living in an unpredictable and often disappointing world, this is the very place that my soul finds peace and rest.

You're rich in love
And You're slow to anger
Your name is great
And Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness
I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons
For my heart to find

Bless the Lord oh my soul...
