They call it a "Baby Moon!"

So I've always really liked the idea of a Baby Moon...

 

Ya know a little getaway to spend some alone time with your

spouse before the expecting mother delivers the sweet babe.

 

Which follows this postpartum mama finding herself in a beautiful yet perpetual

state of overload and emotion... and at times she considers attacking (clarification: angry spider monkey style,not lets make-out style) her incredibly good willed and HARDWORKING handsome husband night after night as he snoozes away so peacefully while she is up tending to another hunger cry from her little deer...

 

And then she snaps, because she holds it all in and refuses to say anything OUT LOUD..

pshhh that would just be silly and completely contradict her ideal of

what a good mom does...in the world of good moms meltdowns are not

tolerated and weakness just doesn't exist!

 

Before you know it this mama is face down on the floor,

fetal position, sobbing hysterically

BECAUSE.I.just.can't.handle.it.because.YOU.HUSBAND.

could.never.understand.because.it.is.just.so.hard.and.nobody.ever.ever.EVERRR.

helps.me.and.just.maybe.i.need.five.more.minutes.to.cry.and.yes.a.starbucks.would.

be.lovely.and.okay.if.you.insist.a.pastry.too.and.can.you.get.my.mom.while.

you.are.at.it.....WaaaHHHHHhhhhhhhhh.

 

So about Baby Moons!

Yes. I am a fan.

 

Jay was presented with an opportunity to get out of

town for work and I was lucky enough to get to tag along!!!

So this past week we spent 3 whole days alone in...

Vegas!

 

Let me preface this with...

I am a Nevada girl-born and raised.

And up until this week I have never stepped foot

in Las Vegas. Just ain't my scene y'all.

But...

you offer me time away with my man, the promise

of good food, and grandparents/Auntie Kara to love on our Minky while away...

done. 36 weeks pregnant and all.

 

 

Grateful for this time to connect with Jay and disconnect from

everything else. We sure missed our Grey Grey like crazy.

Vegas still isn't my scene.

But my fine husband sure is and so is the Nutella banana

filled crepe I ate... I am still dreaming of it.

If I mention this crepe to Jay one more time he may send me back

there with a one-way ticket ;)

I am SO excited to bring our Baby Boy into this world...

with YOU by my side.

I will try to keep the 2am mama meltdowns at a minimum.
