Life has been real smoky in these parts lately.
We've been sending lots of prayers to the firefighters in Yosemite and
promising that we will never EVER take FRESH AIR for granted again.
We've spent most of this last week or so at home.
Our outside summer adventures have been put on hold...
which means this mama has had to get real creative indoors.
I'm talkin' lots of cardboard box rides.
I'm talkin' lots of cardboard box rides.
My mother arrived on Saturday following a text message that said she had been...
"SAILING!!!"
{Translation: garage sailing! The woman is the queen of garage sales. I love this
about her! Except when she sneak attacks my front porch on Saturday mornings
with her finds that I have absolutely no say in...}
As soon as she pulled up I met her outside and began preaching
my no clutter mantra.
my no clutter mantra.
well...
How Nonni's $5 purchase saved the smoky Saturday that left us trapped indoors..
and days and days after!
and days and days after!
Y'all, it's the simple moments with these big blue eyes
that melt my heart so hard.
A few days later Mink and I escaped the smoke and headed over the hill for the day in search of fresh air! We visited the Sac Zoo and stopped for a little swim at Great Gpa and Gma's on the way home. Did I mention Chick-Fil-A??
Luckily I have to drive 2+ hours to get my paws on their fries dunked in
my buffalo/ranch concoction.
We've been keeping "Da-Da" company in the yard...
helping where we can.
Jay has been working so hard on our yard. Which as of a few weeks ago was
mainly dirt and rock. The smoke hasn't stopped him. He's so the man.
Lots to be grateful for.
Smoke and all.
More yard pics soon...
