3 Favorite Slow Cooker Recipes

One of the ways my sweet friend Az and I connect
is through our love for food.
Az requested that I share my favorite slow cooker recipes.
She is one busy little mama in need of some easy meals.
These are all great basic beef recipes and "Jay Approved"!!!
I usually prep everything the night before and start
the slow cooker the following morning- it's so easy!
 A lovely display of a healthy lunch at the delicious Greens&Grille with my
Azra and Amra- twin sisters. The truth is.. we had to balance out all the
Bosnian chocolate we inhaled before this.
I just love them so much!!!

Slow Cooker Chili
1 pound ground beef
3/4 cup diced onion
3/4 cup diced celery
3/4 cup diced green bell pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 (10.75 ounce) cans tomato puree
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans with liquid
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
1 (15 ounce) can cannellini beans with liquid
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon dried basil
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Place the beef in a skillet over medium heat, and cook until evenly brown. Drain grease.
Place the beef in a slow cooker, and mix in onion, celery, green bell pepper, garlic, tomato puree, kidney beans, and cannellini beans. Season with chili powder, parsley, salt, basil, oregano, black pepper, and hot pepper sauce.
Cover, and cook 8 hours on Low.

    Slow Cooker Beef Roast
(*add some Cayenne if you wanna get crazy)

1 (2 pound) beef round roast
2 large carrots, chopped
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
ground black pepper to taste
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
Place beef round roast in slow cooker, then add carrots, onion, and celery.
Season with garlic powder and black pepper.
Pour Worcestershire and barbecue sauce over meat and vegetables.
Cook on Low until the meat is tender, 6 to 8 hours.


Slow Cooker Beef Barley Soup
2 pounds beef stew meat
5 cups water
4 cubes beef bouillon, crumbled
1/2 onion, chopped
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
3/4 cup uncooked pearl barley
salt and pepper to taste
In a slow cooker, combine beef, water, bouillon,
onion, tomato sauce, barley, salt and pepper.
Cover, and cook on Low for 5 hours.
